My entrepreneurship journey began probably like most other entrepreneurs – elementary school lemonade stands with friends. I later made “pillows” from felt and thought I could sell those. Many “businesses” later when I was in college, I had an idea to grow herbs like basil in my apartment and sell to college students. I learned the health benefits of herbs and wanted everyone to learn how to cook with them! But getting fresh herbs to students without access to a farmer’s market or anything similar was hard…plus I was in school for Mechanical Engineering so my free-time was limited. So I decided to dry my herbs and create dry soup mixes and seasonings instead. I worked on this little business for a couple years before I moved onto my next adventure. My now husband and I moved to TN after college for my first job. There I refinished old window frames and added photos to them. I sold a few of those while living there. I also painted Nashville skylines and sold those on Etsy. Looking back at all of these small endeavors really makes me think- WOW! How did I not see that I was an entrepreneur at heart any sooner? I think fear of the unknown and fear of failure had a lot to do with it. February 2020 I learned about Amazon FBA through a program called “The Rainmakers” and I have no looked back since. Welcome to my journey into entrepreneurship!
